During World War II Switzerland's transactions with the Nazis were the largest of any neutral country. However, the Eizenstat Report - the U.S. government's historical study of what happened to gold and assets plundered by the Nazis - faulted the neutral countries of Argentina, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and Sweden for also profiteering with the Third Reich.
In addition, the World Jewish Restitution Organization says there is evidence that several neutral countries' banks and governments hold significant money and property assets of Holocaust victims and European Jewish communities.
