After the Vice Presidential Debate: Cheney Helps Tip the Balance Toward Bush
October 11, 2000

Following the Vice Presidential Debate, I moved even farther up the scale on the Bush rating. My positive impressions of Dick Cheney were such that I moved at least one rating more "in favor" of Bush. So, before tonight's presidential debate, I'm at least a 2+ if not more.

This movement toward Bush may be taking me out of the "undecided" category. An observation or thought I have, though, is that I am not "strongly" leaning to Bush. I'm bothered a bit by the fact that my tilt or shift toward Bush lacks emotion, motivation, inspiration, excitement, enthusiasm or any real positive energy. Within this context, then, I certainly do not score myself beyond a "3" on your Rating Scale. In fact, I'm probably firmly a "2".

Not unlike the First Presidential Debate, I expected more from Lieberman than he ended up showing me while I expected very little from Cheney yet he was very impressive. Somehow, the Democratic candidates ended up positioned for "high expectations" and didn't reach same from my perspective. On the other hand, the Republican candidates had a more level playing field upon which to perform. Things worked out best for Bush & Cheney as I see it.

Let's bring on the next Presidential Debate!
