House Crime Subcommittee.

Eric Sterling was counsel to the U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary,
1979-1989 and participated in the passage of the mandatory minimum sentencing
laws.
United States District Judge, Southern District of New York. In a 1988 case
Judge Sweet declared the sentencing guidelines unconstitutional. This ruling
was later rejected by the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals.
