In each issue of The Journal of Blacks in Higher Education, the editors
collect statistics bearing on the relative status of blacks and whites, some of
which are interesting but not particularly important while others are highly
relevant and critical to the measurement of racial progress. The following data
was published in the summer and winter 1997 issues.
