comments
The nuclear power reactors of some Russian submarines and icebreaker surface ships employ fuel enriched to 90%. Naval facilities for Russia's Pacific Fleet that store reactor fuel include:

  • Shkotovo-22 Shipyard at Chazma Bay, site of a Russian "technical repair base" and one of five principal storage sites of naval reactor fuel. Fresh nuclear fuel was delivered regularly to the shipyard from 1990 to 1993, accumulating enough material to fuel 24 submarines (48 reactors).
  • Gornyak Shipyard at Krashennikova Bay, site of a Russian naval "technical repair base," and one of five principal storage sites for naval reactor fuel.
  • Vladimir Bay, a small base with a few nuclear-powered subs and perhaps some decommissioned subs.
  • Zvezda Shipyard at Bolshoi Kamen, a START-declared submarine dismantlement facility.
