Thousands of farm families, just like the Buschkoetters, are still struggling to survive the
economic crisis which has gripped rural America. With low commodity prices, unfair trade
practices, misguided national policy and the spread of factory farms, family farmers continue to
lose their farms at disturbing rates. In response, since 1985 Farm Aid has distributed $14.5 million
to over 100 farm organizations in 44 states.
