Video Excerpt
This excerpt is from a section of the documentary dealing with the case of Roy Criner who was sentenced to 99 years in prison for rape and murder. Although two tests proved DNA evidence in the case was not Criner's DNA, the prosecutor and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals opposed granting Criner a new trial. (In August 2000, Gov. George W. Bush pardoned Criner after new DNA testing strongly supported the theory that someone else committed the crime while providing no evidence that it was Criner.)
