Dear FRONTLINE,
I watched your report on Mr. Limbaugh and thought it was somewhat a fair
report except for one thing. The representitive from BIAS, excuse me I
mean FAIR. This group is far from fair or even accuracy. Having this
person on severly damaged Frontline's credibility as an unbiased program.
I am sorry to say that I am not going to be supporting PBS anymore after
this, and am going to encourage my associates to do the same. Possibly a
retraction of the segments that included the FAIR (ha ha) representitive
may be acceptable. The public is very much aware of the fact that FAIR
is a very leftist socialist group, and I believe you guys were well aware
of this too.

Dear FRONTLINE,
Unfortunately, Frontline did not present Rush Limbaugh's philosophy on
downsizing government. He connects with the average American who sees 5.4
trillion dollars spent over thirty years on programs that have made matters
worse.
The December 22, 1995 Wall Street Journal reported that the US government
receipts last month (November) totaled $90.01 billion and we spent $128.46
billion. If we continue to spend at this rate, the dollar, which already is
down dramatically, will go the way of the Mexican Peso and we too will be
facing 65% interest rates and a great depression. There is no country to bail us out!
I like Rush because he is for balancing the budget. The 73 freshman Republicans are standing firm to their election pledges.
I hope Frontline will do a program on what will happen if we do not balance
the budget and there is a run on the dollar.
Sincerely,
N.T.
Dear Frontline,
Thank you for the reasonably fair presentation of Rush. Your bias slipped
and showed on a few occassions. My largest complaint is that you portrayed
Rush's show as having no balancing or opposing viewpoint being presented as a
counter to his arguments. That is patently wrong. You can't look at a
morning, noon, or nighttime newscast without seeing the overwhelmingly
liberal viewpoint presented to . . . no . . . crammed down the throat of the
american people. Very few of the major newspapers are editorially aligned
with anything other than the whitehouse press corp and the liberal voice . .
. trying to tell us how to think . . . not reporting the news but walking in
lockstep behind the liberal mantra. And PBS's "All Things Considered" is one
of the most insulting pieces of patronage I have ever heard aired.
As he so eloquently states . . . Rush is the equal time to all the biased
reporting across the nation. Actually you can't call it reporting when the
lazy "reporter" just regurgitates what comes across some wire service or from
some whitehouse release and they never question the "facts" or substantiate
their story. Lazy reprehensible journalism that doesn't need a college
degree . . . any high school freshman can do that well.
I would ask one small favor and I'm probably too late (you've probably
already produced the show). Please be fair to Newt. He is being butchered .
. . not because of his behavior or any thing illegal he has done. He is
being butchered because he is dismantling the failed icons of liberalism and
the only way the left can combat him is with an assasination of his
character. And, if you contribute to that assasination or support it you are
just as desparate and deceitful as the rest.
Thank you for this platform where I may exercise my first amendment right to
freedom of expression and opinion.

Dear FRONTLINE,
Thank you for this most informative program, which -- I'm sorry to say
-- will probably be viciously maligned on Limbaugh's show tomorrow. I
just wish that the people most likely to be influenced by this
rabble-rouser would also have been likely to see this show.
Frankly, I think you were too lenient on him, much more generous in
spirit than he has ever shown himself to be towards anyone who doesn't
exactly agree with him.
E.A.
Dear FRONTLINE,
Right On!
You did a very good job on this one and we look forward to your planned
program on Newt. You deserve a medal on the balance over all.
Inkroller
Dear FRONTLINE,
Thank You for showing Rush Limbaugh to the nation in a light other than his.
Education about the issues he chooses to distort will bring an end to this
dangerous figure.
T.L.
Dear FRONTLINE,
Nice hatchet job on Rush Limbaugh tonight. Your program had the same fatal
flaw as others I have seen in a similar vein. You start with the premise
that Limbaugh is a far-right radical and then choose the appropriate sound
bites to prove your point. Wake up. Your greatest fear is true. Rush
Limbaugh IS the mainstream. Until you understand (and accept) that, you're
never going to be able to figure out his popularity.

Dear FRONTLINE,
I attempted to use to use the Frontline reply section on the Homepage and it
would not accept the post. It was as follows:
I watched Limbaugh's America last nite and was quite pleased with the
unbiased production. Thank you for this work. At the beginning it said in
a hurry that this show was orginally shown in I think April. This confused
me some, although it appeared to be up to date.
Keep up the good work.
M.R.
Dear FRONTLINE,
Just a note to let you know that I thought your piece on Rush Limbaugh on
12/26 was very good. I appreciate hearing stories on conservative people once
in a while. I look forward to the piece on Gingerich in the future, and I
hope that you will again be fair in your presentation.

Dear FRONTLINE,
Unfortnately, I only caught the last half of "Rush Limbaugh's America" this
evening on Denver's KRMA, Channel 6. I do have a couple of comments on what
I saw, however.
First, I fit squarely into the demographics described as a "Ditto Head".
I'm white, upper middle class w/a college degree, and I work in a high tech
job. I don't agree with all of Rush's opinions, but he articulates my
beliefs far better than any broadcaster or journalist I've ever experienced.
He expounds the virtures of hard work, fairness for all (no preferential
treatments), and an emphasis on self reliance. He denounces socialistic
government programs and oppression of personal freedoms. This viewpoint has
been completely absent from the media and government for decades.
Second, the program frequently refered to "Rush's audience", "the Rush
precinct", "right wing Republicans" or even (by the title) "Rush's America".
I think the 1994 election should have proven that this seemingly splinter
group of people _IS_ America. If you don't think so (which seemed to be the
spin on "Rush Limbaugh's America"), maybe the 1996 election will convince
you.
Third, I do appreciate the effort given into producing a program that
is a dissenting view of Rush. I think dissention and controversy is the
backbone of a representative form of government, and only helps sharpen and
refine ones views. Incidentally, this is another viewpoint I share with
Rush. I'm sure he'll have some commentary on your show in the next couple
days.
Last, I am a recent member of the PBS network. In December, I pledged $40
for a membership with Denver's KBDI Channel 12, which carries the Rush
Limbaugh TV show. You might take a guess at my reason for joining.
