Michele Davis
As assistant secretary for public affairs and director of policy planning at the Treasury Department under Secretary Henry Paulson, she was deeply involved in formulating policy during the meltdown.

Jeb Hensarling
A U.S. Congressman (R-Texas), he led opposition to the initial $700 billion bailout plan presented to the House in September 2008. In November, he was selected by House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) to serve on the TARP Congressional Oversight Panel.

Simon Johnson
Professor at MIT's Sloan School of Management, senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics and former chief economist at the International Monetary Fund, Johnson co-authors the blog The Baseline Scenario.

Ken Lewis
He's the CEO of Bank of America. Under him, it became one of the world's largest banks. In April 2009 shareholders ousted him as chairman of the board because of the Merrill Lynch merger and how it was damaging BofA.

John Thain
As CEO of Merrill Lynch, he sold it to Ken Lewis' Bank of America in late 2008 at a time when Merrill was being hit hard by the subprime mortage meltdown. Thain stayed on to manage Merrill, but within a few weeks was fired by Lewis as both Merrill and Bank of America sank deeper into the red.

Elizabeth Warren
She is a law professor at Harvard University specializing in bankruptcy and commercial law. In November 2008, Warren was selected by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) to chair the TARP Congressional Oversight Panel.
